Requirements & Skills
- Current certification as a Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech) and Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) or equivalent credentials
- Proficiency in operating cath lab equipment and imaging technology
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology relevant to diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Ability to assist physicians during cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, and related procedures
- Competence in patient monitoring and safety protocols during invasive cardiovascular procedures
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work effectively in a multidisciplinary care team
- Commitment to maintaining a sterile and safe work environment
- Ability to follow detailed procedural protocols and maintain accurate documentation
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain cath lab equipment and supplies prior to procedures
- Assist physicians during various cardiovascular procedures by operating imaging equipment and ensuring optimal visualization
- Monitor patient vital signs and respond promptly to any changes during procedures
- Ensure adherence to infection control standards and procedural safety guidelines
- Document procedural details accurately in patient records and communicate findings to the clinical team
- Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to provide seamless patient care and facilitate efficient cath lab workflow
- Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain certification and stay current with advancements in the field
Qualifications
- Accredited degree or diploma in Radiologic Technology and Cardiovascular Technology
- Current and valid Rad Tech and CVT certifications or licensure as required by the state of North Dakota
- Minimum experience working in a cardiac catheterization laboratory or related cardiovascular setting preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and professional integrity
- Flexibility to adapt to scheduling needs and work collaboratively with a diverse healthcare team
