Requirements and Skills
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Minnesota
- Clinical experience in Obstetrics and Labor & Delivery (OB/L&D)
- Strong knowledge of maternal and neonatal care practices
- Ability to assess and monitor patients during labor and delivery
- Proficient in handling emergency situations with calm and decisive action
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and families
- Commitment to providing patient-centered and empathetic care
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Obstetrics and Labor & Delivery unit, ensuring safety and comfort throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum period
- Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Assist physicians and midwives during delivery procedures and provide immediate newborn care following delivery
- Educate patients and their families on labor processes, postpartum care, and newborn care
- Document all aspects of care accurately and promptly in accordance with regulatory and facility standards
- Maintain a sterile and safe environment in accordance with infection control policies
- Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain skills and comply with best practices in OB/L&D nursing
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse license in good standing with the Minnesota Board of Nursing
- Proven experience in an OB/L&D clinical setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

Compensation and Benefits
