We are seeking experienced RN Corrections Travel Nurses to join our dynamic healthcare team, providing specialized nursing care within correctional facilities across diverse regions. In this role, you will deliver comprehensive patient assessments, administer medications and treatments, and ensure the highest standards of safety and hygiene in a secure environment. Your expertise will support the health and well-being of incarcerated individuals, contributing to public health initiatives and facility operations. Compensation
PCS offers the highest compensation package in the industry, commensurate with correctional experience. 100% paid for housing for your entire correctional travel assignment. Responsibilities
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation.
Administer medications, including injections and IV infusions, following strict aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
Manage acute pain cases, perform wound suturing, and provide emergency response as needed within correctional facilities.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans aligned with facility policies.
Document all patient interactions accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Cerner or Athenahealth.
Monitor patients with complex conditions such as infectious diseases, mental health issues, or chronic illnesses.
Perform specimen collection and processing for laboratory testing; interpret diagnostic evaluations.
Educate patients on health management strategies, including medication adherence and lifestyle modifications.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of sensitive medical records.
Support discharge planning and coordinate follow-up care with external providers when appropriate.
Skills
Proven experience in correctional healthcare settings or similar environments requiring security awareness.
Proficiency with electronic medical record systems such as CorrecTek.
Strong clinical skills in areas including critical care, emergency medicine, trauma medicine, and infectious disease care.
Familiarity with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination.
Excellent assessment skills for triage situations involving acute pain management or urgent care needs.
Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with diverse populations including individuals with disabilities or behavioral health conditions.
Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments while maintaining high-quality patient care standards.
Basic life support (BLS) certification from the AHA; additional certifications in advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) or trauma preferred.
Pay: $50.00 - $56.00 per hour
