Shift & Schedule
- Night Shift: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Day Shift: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
Requirements & Skills
- Minimum of 0.5 years of CNA experience
- Patient ratio experience of 1:10-20
- Proficiency with any charting system (required)
- Previous travel experience required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Knowledge of abnormal and normal vital sign parameters for adults and pediatrics
- Ability to perform safe patient transfers
- Skilled in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including:
- Assistance with ambulation and feeding
- Turning and repositioning patients
- Bed shampoo, linen changes, and complete bed baths
- Foot, mouth, and perineal care (male/female)
- Pressure injury prevention
- Shaving and shower assistance
- Skin care and urine/stool incontinence care
- Infection control expertise, including donning/removing PPE and isolation precautions
- Experience handling key equipment, such as glucometers, oxygen tanks, and pulse oximetry devices
- Competence performing procedures like glucose point of care testing, blood pressure (including orthostatic), respirations, pulse (radial), and temperature measurements (oral, rectal, axillary, tympanic)
- Experience working in Long Term Acute Care (LTAC), Long Term Care (LTC), or Skilled Nursing settings
- Effective recording and reporting of changes in patient condition
- Ability to provide care for young adults, middle adults, and older adults
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive personal care to patients, assisting with activities of daily living to promote comfort and dignity
- Monitor and document vital signs accurately, recognizing and reporting abnormal findings
- Safely assist patients with transfers, ambulation, and mobility support
- Maintain infection control standards by properly using PPE and following isolation protocols
- Use clinical equipment such as glucometers, pulse oximeters, and oxygen tanks efficiently and safely
- Assist nursing staff in obtaining and recording vital signs and other patient data
- Perform patient hygiene care, including bathing, oral care, foot care, and linen changes
- Provide pressure injury prevention care and incontinence management
- Report changes in patient condition promptly to nursing and medical staff
- Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in good standing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification current and valid
- Minimum six months of clinical experience as a CNA or Nurse Assistant
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in long-term care or skilled nursing environments
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care
- Willingness and ability to travel in support of assignments
- Proficient in electronic charting and documentation systems
Compensation: Hourly rate of $31.00 - $37.00
