Join Our Team as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Nurse Assistant in Seward, AK

We are actively seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Nurse Assistant to join our Long Term Care unit in Seward, AK. Shift and Schedule

  • Night Shift: 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • Day Shift: 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Requirements

  • Minimum 0.5 years of healthcare experience
  • Experience managing patient ratios of 1:10-20
  • Familiarity with any electronic charting system (required)
  • Previous travel experience (required)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Demonstrated skills in monitoring vital signs, safe patient transfers, and activities of daily living
  • Proficient in infection control practices including donning/removing PPE and following isolation precautions
  • Experience working with equipment such as glucometers, oxygen tanks, and pulse oximeters
  • Competent in performing glucose point of care testing and obtaining various patient vitals (blood pressure, respirations, pulse, temperature via multiple methods)
  • Comfortable providing care in Long Term Acute Care (LTAC), Long Term Care (LTC), and Skilled Nursing environments

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living including ambulation, feeding, turning/repositioning, bathing, hygiene, and skin care
  • Perform routine procedures such as vital sign measurements and glucose testing with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ensure patient safety through pressure injury prevention and proper use of transfer techniques
  • Provide specialized care including bed shampoo, foot care, perineal care, shave assistance, and managing incontinence
  • Maintain stringent infection control protocols and comply with PPE usage and isolation precautions
  • Operate and monitor equipment safely including glucometers, oxygen tanks, and pulse oximetry devices
  • Report and document any changes in patient conditions promptly and accurately
  • Collaborate effectively with healthcare teams to support young adult, middle adult, and older adult patients

Qualifications

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent nurse assistant credential
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Proven ability to provide compassionate and skilled patient care in long term care settings
  • Experience working in patient care environments with varied acuity levels preferred
  • Strong communication skills and teamwork orientation
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic clinical environment and uphold professional standards
