Shift & Schedule
- Day Shift: Monday through Friday
- Hours: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (5x8-hour shifts)
Position Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in Radiology/CT technology
- Proficient in charting using Epic electronic health record system (required)
- Experience in Trauma Level II settings (required); Trauma Level I, Teaching Hospital, and Community Hospital experience are preferred
- Current certifications: ARRT CT, ARRT R, and BLS credentials are mandatory
- Advanced imaging skills, including:
- 3D rendering: Maximum intensity projection, Surface shaded displays, Volume rendering
- Multiplanar reconstruction (MPR)
- Region of interest (ROI) measurement
- Competency in abdomen and pelvis imaging:
- Abdomen with and without contrast
- Colorectal studies involving rectal contrast
- Enterography and intravenous pyelogram studies
- Pelvis with and without contrast
- Experience in diverse work settings including Adult Acute Care, Adult Outpatient, Emergency Department, ICU, Level I and II Trauma Centers, and essential Pediatric Acute and Outpatient Care
- Special procedures expertise in:
- Aspirations and biopsies
- Brain perfusion and myelography
- Colonography or virtual colonography
- Coronary CTA, CT arthrography, drainage procedures
- PET CT and radiation therapy planning
- Transplant and vascular CTA studies
- Head and Neck imaging including carotid, head and sinus scans, soft tissue neck, and trauma head scans
- Spine and musculoskeletal imaging capabilities covering cervical, lumbar, thoracic, and musculoskeletal trauma cases
- Chest imaging, including contrast and non-contrast studies, heart calcium scoring, coronary angiography, and vascular chest studies (e.g., pulmonary embolism, aorta CTA)
- Proficiency with equipment including GE, PACS, and Philips (Philips expertise required)
- Strong professional knowledge in:
- Isolation precautions and personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Preparation and administration of contrast media
- Radiation safety protocols
- Starting peripheral IVs and venipuncture (both required)
- Additional skills related to GE equipment operation
- Travel experience is not required; first-time travelers must have at least 2 years of experience
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality CT imaging procedures for radiology and cardiology patients, ensuring adherence to standardized protocols
- Utilize advanced imaging techniques such as 3D rendering and multiplanar reconstruction to assist with diagnostic accuracy
- Accurately chart and document procedures using the Epic electronic health record system
- Provide patient care during procedures including administering contrast agents safely and managing patient positioning and comfort
- Conduct special procedures including biopsies, aspirations, and complex vascular and cardiac imaging studies
- Maintain operational knowledge and safety standards for all imaging equipment, specifically Philips, GE, and PACS systems
- Follow strict radiation safety and infection control guidelines to protect patients and staff
- Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams, including trauma and pediatric care personnel, to ensure comprehensive patient management
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives within the radiology department
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year experience as a CT Technologist in a clinical setting
- Certifications: ARRT CT, ARRT R, and current BLS
- Demonstrated proficiency with Epic charting system
- Experience with trauma level II centers is required; trauma level I, teaching hospital or community hospital experience is highly preferred
- Advanced skills in image display, post-processing, and special imaging procedures as outlined
- Ability to manage pediatric and adult patient imaging independently and with care
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills suited for a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
Compensation & Employment Details
This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $66.00 – $78.00.
