Requirements & Skills

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Certification and training as a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA).
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and operating room protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Proficiency in patient assessment and intraoperative support techniques.
  • Adherence to sterile techniques and infection control standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct surgical assistance to the surgeon before, during, and after operative procedures.
  • Assist in surgical site exposure, hemostasis, suturing, and wound closure.
  • Prepare the operating room, instruments, and supplies for surgical cases.
  • Ensure patient safety and monitor vital signs throughout procedures.
  • Collaborate with surgical team members to maintain a sterile and efficient environment.
  • Document intraoperative care and patient responses accurately.
  • Participate in preoperative and postoperative patient care as needed.

Qualifications

  • Active RN licensure in the state of Wisconsin.
  • Formal RNFA education and certification.
  • Previous experience as an RNFA preferred but not mandatory.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications preferred.
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities under pressure.
  • Commitment to maintaining professional standards and continuing education.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive hourly rate: $88.00 - $104.00 per hour.
