Shift and Schedule
- Unit/Department: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- Shift: Full-time, with flexible scheduling options available to meet unit needs
- Hours: Typically 12-hour shifts, including day and night rotations
Requirements & Skills
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska
- Proven experience working in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or critical care setting
- Strong clinical assessment and monitoring abilities for critically ill patients
- Proficiency in managing ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS)
- Excellent communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration and patient-family interactions
- Ability to respond promptly and effectively to rapidly changing patient conditions
- Competent in electronic health records (EHR) documentation and data management
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU, ensuring safety and comfort
- Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and operate specialized monitoring equipment
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Respond swiftly to medical emergencies, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation and other life-saving interventions
- Educate patients and their families regarding disease processes, treatment plans, and post-discharge care
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and document all nursing interventions thoroughly
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and quality care
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- Current Nebraska RN license in good standing
- Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification is a plus but not required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills in high-pressure environments
- Commitment to continuous professional development and patient-centered care
Compensation and Benefits
Pay Rate: $61.00 - $72.00 per hour
