Shift and Schedule

  • Night Shift: 4 x 12-hour shifts (19:00 – 7:30)
  • Day Shift: 4 x 12-hour shifts (7:00 – 19:30)

Position Requirements

  • Minimum experience: At least 0.5 years as a CNA or Nurse Assistant
  • Patient ratio experience: Comfortable working with ratios from 1:10 to 1:20
  • Charting system knowledge: Proficient in using any electronic charting system
  • Travel experience: Previous travel healthcare experience is required
  • Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Professional skills: Understanding of abnormal and normal vital sign parameters for adult and pediatric patients
  • Patient care abilities: Skilled in safe patient transfers and activities of daily living including ambulation, feeding, turning and repositioning, and hygiene care
  • Infection control: Knowledgeable in donning and removing personal protective equipment (PPE), and isolation precautions
  • Equipment proficiency: Experience with glucometers, oxygen tanks, and pulse oximetry devices
  • Procedural skills: Ability to perform glucose point of care testing and obtain vital signs accurately (blood pressure including orthostatic, respirations, pulse, temperature via multiple methods)
  • Work setting experience: Familiarity with Long Term Acute Care (LTAC), Long Term Care (LTC), and skilled nursing environments
  • Recording and reporting: Competent in reporting changes in patient condition effectively
  • Additional competencies: Experience caring for young adults, middle-aged adults, and older adults

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate and safe assistance with activities of daily living including ambulation, feeding, hygiene, and grooming
  • Perform patient transfers with attention to safety and comfort
  • Conduct routine procedures such as obtaining vital signs and glucose testing accurately and efficiently
  • Support infection control protocols through proper use of PPE and adherence to isolation precautions
  • Document patient care activities and report any changes in condition promptly to nursing staff
  • Assist with the prevention of pressure injuries through repositioning and skin care
  • Maintain a clean and safe patient environment, including bed linens, bathing, and incontinence care
  • Operate medical equipment such as pulse oximeters, oxygen tanks, and glucometers safely and accurately
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care

Qualifications

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Nurse Assistant certification
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a patient load consistent with long term care settings
  • Previous travel healthcare experience required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients and team members
  • Ability to perform clinical procedures and use healthcare technology with confidence
  • Commitment to maintaining patient dignity, privacy, and safety at all times
  • Flexibility to work day or night shift schedules as assigned
