Requirements & Skills
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Wisconsin.
- Proven experience working as an Operating Room (OR) RN.
- Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing principles and surgical procedures.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent critical thinking, communication, and patient care skills.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Prepare the operating room by ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are sterile and ready for use.
- Assist the surgical team by anticipating needs, passing instruments, and maintaining aseptic technique.
- Monitor patient condition and vital signs throughout the surgical process and intervene as needed.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Document patient information accurately and timely in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
- Adhere to safety protocols and infection control policies at all times.
Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted RN license in Wisconsin.
- Prior experience as an OR Nurse or perioperative nursing preferred.
- Completion of accredited nursing education program (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing).
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
