Shift Schedule
- Day Shift: 4x10 Hour shifts
- Hours: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Requirements & Skills
- Charting System Experience: Required proficiency with Epic
- Certifications: ARDMS or ARDMS VT or CCI or RDCS, plus BLS certification
- Extensive knowledge and skills in performed ultrasound procedures, including but not limited to:
- OB/GYN Ultrasound: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester imaging, amniotic fluid index, fetal anatomical survey, placenta previa assessment
- Fetal Ultrasound: abdomen, abdominal circumference, bone lengths, cerebellum, ventricles, diaphragm, duodenal atresia/intussusception, fingers/toes, gender, head, heart
- Neonatal Ultrasound: abdomen, duodenal atresia/intussusception, head (required), hips (required), renal, spine (required)
- General Ultrasound: abdominal aorta, appendix, breast (required), gallbladder, liver, pancreas, pediatric abdomen/pelvis, spleen
- Vascular Ultrasound: aorta, carotid, color flow, Doppler studies, duplex, lower and upper extremity arterial & venous, M-mode, renal artery duplex
- Renal/Pelvis Ultrasound: bladder, hernia, ovaries, renal/bladder, transvaginal, uterus, vaginal
- Small Parts Ultrasound: breast ultrasound (required), superficial masses, testicles/scrotum, thyroid
- Transplant Studies: liver (required), renal (required)
- Procedures: paracentesis (required), ultrasound-guided biopsy/fine needle aspiration (required)
- Additional Skills: adult echo, contrast echo, echo stress—treadmill
- Work Setting Experience: Adult, Emergency Department, High Risk OB, ICU, Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Portables
- Equipment Proficiency: GE equipment and PACS
- Adherence to Professional Knowledge: isolation precautions and personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols
- No travel experience required
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive multispecialty ultrasound procedures including radiologic and cardiologic imaging in alignment with department protocols and patient care standards
- Accurately chart and document ultrasound findings using the Epic system to ensure precise, timely, and compliant patient records
- Conduct fetal, neonatal, general, vascular, renal/pelvis, and small parts ultrasound studies, and perform transplant and specialized procedures such as paracentesis and ultrasound-guided biopsies
- Maintain proficiency in operating and troubleshooting GE ultrasound systems and PACS technology
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare team members to support diagnostic and treatment plans, providing expert imaging and patient care
- Follow and adhere strictly to isolation precautions and PPE protocols to ensure safety of patients and staff
- Provide patient education and compassionate care throughout ultrasound procedures, adapting to patient needs across diverse settings including ICU, ED, obstetrics, and pediatrics
- Participate in continuing education and certification renewals to maintain current skills and compliance
Qualifications
- Certified in ARDMS, ARDMS VT, CCI, or RDCS along with current BLS certification
- Demonstrable expertise in multispecialty ultrasound techniques spanning radiology and cardiology disciplines
- Strong proficiency with Epic electronic medical record system
- Excellent knowledge of relevant anatomy, pathology, and diagnostic ultrasound standards
- Ability to perform specialized ultrasound procedures including paracentesis and ultrasound-guided biopsies
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with diverse patient populations and interdisciplinary team members
- Commitment to following healthcare safety protocols including PPE and isolation precautions
