Shift and Schedule
- Evening Shift: 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts
- Hours: 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM
Requirements and Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a CT Technologist
- Proficient in charting using Epic system (required)
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Travel experience: Not required
- Certifications required:
- ARRT Registered (R)
- BLS Certification
- Fluoroscopy Permit
- Venipuncture Certification
- Imaging expertise in:
- Abdomen and Pelvis (with and without contrast)
- Chest (with and without contrast)
- Head and Neck (with and without contrast)
- Spine and Musculoskeletal including cervical, lumbar, thoracic, and musculoskeletal trauma
- Experience in adult outpatient settings (required); also skilled in adult acute care, emergency department, and ICU settings
- Special procedures proficiency including aspirations, biopsies, drainage (all required), brain perfusion, coronary CTA, CT arthrography, myelography, transplant studies, and vascular CTA
- Advanced skills in image display and post processing, including multiplanar reconstruction (MPR)
- Demonstrated experience operating Siemens and Toshiba CT equipment (required) and proficiency with PACS
- Professional knowledge including preparation and administration of contrast media, peripheral IV starts, and venipuncture
- Additional skill: Ability to respond to code stroke emergencies
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality CT imaging procedures in accordance with established protocols for a variety of clinical settings, including outpatient and acute care
- Conduct specialized imaging procedures such as aspirations, biopsies, and drainages with precision and patient safety as a priority
- Prepare and administer contrast media safely, monitoring for patient reactions
- Operate Siemens and Toshiba CT scanners, leveraging PACS technology for image management and processing
- Collaborate closely with radiologists and healthcare team to ensure accurate imaging and timely delivery of diagnostic results
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation using Epic charting system
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, maintaining required certifications and safety protocols
- Perform venipuncture and start peripheral IVs as needed during imaging procedures
- Respond promptly and effectively to code stroke situations within the imaging department
Qualifications
- Valid ARRT R certification and fluoroscopy permit
- Current BLS certification
- Venipuncture certification
- Minimum 1 year of CT technologist experience, preferably with community hospital background
- Proficiency with Siemens and Toshiba CT systems and PACS
- Experience with Epic charting system
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration and patient care
- Ability to maintain high standards of accuracy, safety, and professionalism in all imaging procedures
