Requirements and Skills

  • Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) or equivalent certification
  • Specialized training or certification in Interventional Radiology preferred
  • Experience operating fluoroscopy and advanced IR imaging equipment
  • Strong knowledge of IR procedures, vascular and non-vascular interventions
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, acute care environment
  • Excellent patient care and communication skills
  • Ability to adhere to radiation safety protocols and infection control standards

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and operate interventional radiology imaging equipment, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images
  • Assist physicians during IR procedures by providing technical support and operating imaging machinery
  • Monitor patient vital signs and provide patient care during procedures
  • Maintain accurate records of procedures, equipment, and supplies used
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards including radiation safety protocols
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver efficient and effective patient care
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to remain current in IR technology and procedures

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent
  • Demonstrated proficiency in interventional radiology procedures and equipment operation
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and clinical demands
