Join Our Team as a Registered Nurse in Olympia, WA

We are actively seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Med Surg team on the night shift. Shift and Schedule

  • Night Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
  • Shift Timing: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM

Requirements and Skills

  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience; 3 years Med Surg experience preferred
  • Previous Charge Nurse experience preferred
  • Patient ratio experience of 1:5
  • Proficient with Epic charting system (required)
  • Certifications: BLS and OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) are required
  • Professional knowledge and skills including Isolation Precautions and proper use of PPE
  • Work experience in Med/Surg units
  • Competence in respiratory care: nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and handling oxygen tanks
  • IV therapy and phlebotomy skills including peripheral line care and management
  • Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills, including experience with rapid response and code teams
  • Additional oncology nursing experience highly valued
  • No travel experience required

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional nursing care to adult patients on the Med Surg unit, prioritizing safety and comfort
  • Manage patient care in accordance with established protocols including respiratory therapy and IV line management
  • Effectively use Epic for thorough and accurate patient charting and documentation
  • Implement isolation precautions and use personal protective equipment appropriately to prevent infection
  • Monitor patients’ cardiac status and participate in emergency response teams as needed
  • Assume charge nurse responsibilities when assigned, coordinating nursing staff and resources to optimize patient care
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update individualized care plans, especially for oncology patients
  • Maintain a patient ratio that supports high-quality and attentive nursing care

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse license in Washington State
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Oncology Certification (OCN) required
  • Demonstrated proficiency with the Epic electronic health record system
  • Strong clinical knowledge of Med Surg nursing, respiratory care, and IV therapy
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently during night shifts while maintaining accountability

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly rate ranges from $51.00 to $61.00 based on experience and qualifications.
