Join Our Team as a Radiology / Cardiology Radiation Therapist in Lacey, WA

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team in Lacey, WA. Shift and Schedule

  • Day Shift: Monday to Friday
  • Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (5 days a week, 8 hours each)

Requirements and Skills

  • Minimum of 1 year of Radiation Therapist experience
  • Current ARRT-T (Therapy) certification
  • Valid Washington State license
  • BLS certification required
  • Proficiency with Epic charting system preferred
  • Experience in Adult Acute Care required; familiarity with Adult Outpatient settings is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with treatment units including ARIA, TrueBeam, and Varian 21 ex/ix (TrueBeam and Varian 21 ex/ix required)
  • Competency in treating conditions such as Benign Brain Tumors, Gynecomastia, Heterotopic Bone, Keloids, Prophylactic Treatments, Prostate Cancer (with Seeds/Fiducials), Respiratory Gating, Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS), and Superior Vena Cava syndrome
  • Knowledge of radiation safety principles and billing for treatment types and devices
  • Expertise in beam modifying and positioning including CBCT/kV/mV imaging and use of wedges
  • Proficient in general clinical skills including chart check, emergency protocols with crash cart and defibrillator use, and field shaping
  • Experience with pretreatment procedures like CT simulation, custom molds, custom shields, and tumor localization
  • Familiarity with Eclipse (Varian) treatment planning system
  • Dosimetry skills covering electron fields, parallel opposed fields, SBRT, and VMAT therapies
  • Provision of treatment to patients with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, Kidney Cancer, Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, Pancreatic Cancer, and Testicular Cancer
  • Skillful use of beam modifiers
  • No travel experience required

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver radiation therapy treatments accurately and safely to patients according to prescribed protocols
  • Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment including ARIA, TrueBeam, and Varian 21 ex/ix systems
  • Perform treatment planning in Eclipse (Varian) and ensure precise dosimetry application including SBRT and VMAT techniques
  • Conduct CT simulations, create custom molds and shields, and perform tumor localization for patient treatment preparation
  • Maintain thorough and accurate patient charts, documenting therapy delivery and patient responses, preferably within Epic system
  • Implement radiation safety standards to protect patients, staff, and environment
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations, utilizing crash cart and defibrillator as necessary
  • Collaborate closely with oncologists, medical physicists, and multidisciplinary team members to ensure high quality patient care
  • Provide patient education and support regarding treatment procedures and safety considerations
  • Manage billing processes related to treatment types and devices in compliance with regulatory standards

Qualifications

  • Active ARRT-T certification and Washington state licensure
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • At least one year of experience as a Radiation Therapist in adult acute care settings
  • Proven expertise with radiotherapy equipment and treatment planning systems as specified
  • Strong understanding of radiation safety, emergency procedures, and patient care principles
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills
