Join Our Team as a Registered Nurse – Surgery RN in Issaquah, WA

We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our progressive Surgery Department. Shift & Schedule

  • Day Shift: Monday through Friday
  • 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (5 days x 8 hours)

Requirements & Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of RN surgical experience (Scrub experience in robotics and ENT strongly preferred)
  • ENT experience with endoscope utilization required
  • Scrub experience mandatory for orthopedic, robotic, ENT, trauma, and vascular surgeries
  • Current ACLS certification (required)
  • BLS certification
  • Comprehensive knowledge and skillset across multiple surgical specialties, including but not limited to:
    • Gynecology: Abdominal/vaginal hysterectomy, anterior/posterior repair, bilateral tubal ligation, dilation & curettage, laparoscopic assisted procedures
    • Plastics: Abdominoplasty, breast augmentation, free flap microvascular, mastectomy with tram flap reconstruction
    • General Surgery: Appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laparoscopic procedures, thyroidectomy
    • Orthopedic: Arthroscopy, closed/open reduction of fractures, laminectomy/discectomy, total joint replacement, scrub arthroscopic and orthopedic surgeries
    • Robotics: Colorectal, gastrointestinal, gynecologic, neurological, orthopedic, otolaryngologic, TORS (TransOral Robotic Surgery), scrub robotic surgery
    • Urology: Cystoscopy, laparoscopic assisted cases, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, TURP
    • Ear/Nose/Throat: Endoscopic sinus procedures (required), laryngectomy, radical neck dissection, scrub ENT surgery, tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy, tracheostomy
    • Neurology: Laminectomy/discectomy, lumbar fusion
    • Trauma and Vascular: Scrub trauma and vascular surgery
    • Additional Skills: Orthopedic sports medicine experience, wound vac management, epidural pump handling
  • No travel experience required

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert perioperative nursing care in the surgical suite, focusing on preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative patient management
  • Assist and scrub in complex surgical procedures including robotics, ENT, orthopedic, vascular, and trauma surgeries
  • Administer blood and blood products with precision and adherence to safety protocols
  • Monitor patients closely during conscious sedation and ensure prompt response to any changes in patient condition
  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
  • Maintain sterile field and ensure compliance with infection control protocols throughout surgical procedures
  • Educate patients and families about surgical procedures and postoperative care to promote recovery
  • Document patient care, surgical events, and any incidents accurately and in a timely manner

Qualifications

  • Current Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Washington
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in surgical nursing with proficiency in scrub and circulating roles
  • Strong proficiency in robotic surgical systems and ENT endoscopic procedures
  • Certifications in ACLS and BLS are mandatory
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary surgical team
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and patient advocacy skills
  • Commitment to upholding the highest standards of surgical care and patient safety
