Shift Schedule

  • Night Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Unit/Department: CRTRRT

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years clinical experience
  • ACLS certification (required)
  • BLS certification
  • PALS certification (required)
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
  • Current Washington State respiratory care license
  • Preferred experience in teaching hospital setting
  • Preferred experience working in Trauma Level I environment
  • Experience working in Emergency Department (required)
  • Experience in Pediatrics (required)
  • Proficient in medication delivery systems including aerosol setup with masks and tracheostomies, Medihaler, and Metered Dose Inhaler (MDI)
  • Medication administration expertise including:
    • Albuterol, Atrovent, Bicarbonate (required)
    • Combivent, Flovent
    • Inhaled Flolan (required), inhaled steroids
    • Isuprel
    • Ketamine (required)
    • Lidocaine
    • Mucomyst (required)
    • Nitric Oxide (INo) (required)
    • Perforomist, Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine
    • Spiriva, Terbutaline Sulfate, Theophylline (required)
    • Tobramycin, Xopenex
  • Ventilator management skills including BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshooting high pressure alarms (required), and weaning from mechanical ventilation (required)
  • Airway management and suctioning skills: extubation, nasal and oral airway placement and suctioning, pulmonary hygiene, sputum specimen collection, tracheostomy care and management
  • Proficiency with nebulizer devices including hand-held, T-piece, and trach collar
  • Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
  • Oxygen therapy with emphasis on trach collar management
  • Comfort responding to trauma and rapid response situations (required)
  • No travel required

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments and implement care plans appropriately for patients in emergency and pediatric settings
  • Administer respiratory medications and oxygen therapy using various devices and delivery systems safely and effectively
  • Operate and troubleshoot advanced ventilators including BiPAP and CPAP, manage alarms, and assist in patient weaning protocols
  • Manage airway interventions including suctioning, airway placement, extubation, and tracheostomy care
  • Collect and interpret arterial blood gases to guide clinical decisions
  • Facilitate pulmonary hygiene techniques and assist in sputum specimen collections
  • Respond promptly to trauma and rapid response calls within the unit
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote optimal patient outcomes
  • Maintain all required certifications and licenses in compliance with state and facility policies

Qualifications

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with current Washington license
  • Valid ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant respiratory care experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team under high-pressure conditions
  • Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving skills in emergency and pediatric care environments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills geared toward patient-centered care

Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly rate ranging from $49.00 to $58.00
