Requirements and Skills

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Wisconsin.
  • Clinical experience in Emergency Room nursing preferred.
  • Strong critical thinking and assessment skills.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients in the Emergency Room setting.
  • Monitor and record patient vital signs and symptoms accurately, reporting any critical changes promptly.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, adhering to safety and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families during emergency care episodes.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace according to infection control protocols.
  • Respond swiftly and effectively during emergency situations, prioritizing patient needs.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing program (Associate’s or Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred).
  • Valid Wisconsin RN license with no restrictions.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Prior Emergency Room nursing experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and patient advocacy.
