Requirements and Skills
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Experience in Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) nursing
- Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and interventions
- Ability to monitor cardiac patients and utilize cardiovascular monitoring equipment
- Critical thinking skills and ability to respond quickly in emergency situations
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Proficient in patient assessment, documentation, and care planning
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures
- Prepare patients for procedures, including pre-procedure assessment and education
- Assist physicians during catheterization procedures ensuring patient safety and procedure efficiency
- Monitor patients’ vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and overall condition throughout procedures and recovery
- Recognize and respond promptly to any complications or emergencies
- Document procedures, patient responses, and any incidents accurately and timely
- Collaborate closely with the cardiology team, technologists, and support staff to deliver optimal care
- Maintain sterile and safe work environment adhering to infection control protocols
- Provide post-procedure care and patient education for discharge planning
Qualifications
- Valid RN licensure to practice in Wisconsin
- Cath Lab or Cardiac Nursing certification preferred but not required
- Minimum of 1-2 years nursing experience in cardiac or critical care settings is highly advantageous
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle stressful situations with professionalism
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Compensation: Hourly rate ranging from $72.00 to $85.00
